Happy Mothers Day!

I wanted to take a moment today to wish all the mamas out there a very Happy Mothers Day!!  Motherhood is quite the journey.  I know you know what I mean. To the Mamas:  I hope you take this day to just be, be kind to yourself be gentle with yourself as you are with your children.  There is this inner world of mothers, full of doubt, worry, second guessing, and wondering if we're ever doing enough, being enough, and wondering how we can do more, do better.  Then we have those incredible days when we think "hey, I'm think I'm actually doing a pretty good job at this parenting thing."  I wish for you more of those days and less of the worry.  Take this moment, soak up all of the appreciation being sent your way today and let it sink into your soul.  You are amazing, you are enough, you are more than enough, this relationship between you and your baby (no matter how old)  has been divinely aligned.  They chose you, you chose them, and even when there is struggle, tantrums, upset, there is also the gift of it all.  The gift of learning and moving through it, the gift of getting to know one another better, the gift of being so intimately connected to someone in this life.  We only get to experience that with a chosen few.  It is a gift to be cherished.  Yes, life will feel rushed, it will be easy to take it all for granted, but remind yourself at least once every day what a gift it all is...because it's the greatest gift and biggest honor to be a mother.  Do something fabulous for yourself today.  And when you need a serious laugh on one of those crazy days, come back over to this post, click this link and watch this video.  It's hysterical.

To all the women out there trying to start a family & struggling:  I am sending you love ladies.  SO much love.  I have been in your shoes.  I lost my first baby (a little boy) when I was 6 months pregnant, I had a healthy baby girl and then two other miscarriages.  These experiences of loss are shattering.  I know your heart.  But, I also want to share with you the greatest lesson I have ever learned through those losses and that is, that you're baby will come to you when the time is perfect.  That little soul that you feel you lost, you haven't really lost, they're just hanging around you, right now, waiting for the perfect time of entrance.  Maybe they will come through your body, maybe they will come through someone else's and find their way to you....but your baby will come to you.  I promise.  Keep the faith.  Follow and trust your intuition, it is your greatest gift (I tell my daughter it is the one super-power you get to take down with you from heaven, so use it!) and will continue to be as you journey into motherhood.

Most importantly today, I want to leave you with a laugh!  Because laughter just feels so damn good and is so healing.  I have watched this about 100 times so far.
